Nisha Tandon with her family

Dear 15-year-old self,

Opening my letter to you with a quote that is the need of the hour:

'Family is the anchor that holds us through life's storms!'

A powerful quote and this is exactly what I, with my life experiences, have learnt to believe in.

You are on a threshold where changes and decision making are inevitable.

You will meet people in your life who you will begin to relate to more and which may distance you from the people who you may need most in your life -- your family.

Your priorities in life will change.

The onward journey isn’t going to be any easy.

There will be success and there will be failures. Just remember that each time you fall, the only people who will be non-judgmental and accept you unconditionally, will be your family. They are your anchor!

I need you to understand that family is not only a source of love and care but also the biggest emotional support one needs.

No matter what challenges you will face in life, the only people standing behind you genuinely will be your family.

It’s okay to fail and learn but don’t get influenced by wrong company who may take advantage of the situation.

It’s a tender age where it’s easy to be distracted by exactly what isn’t the right thing for you.

A strong piece of advise to you before I allow you to fly. Don’t get influenced; be your own person!

I know when you shall sit back and contemplate, my words will leave a mark on you. After all, I am the more experienced one, right?

Take care and be fearless.

Yours lovingly,
Nisha Tandon
Your 35 years older you!
