Alia Bhatt considers her performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi to be her best to date.
A source from Gangubai Kathiawadi Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali's office tells Subhash K Jha, "Alia is very proud of her performance. She has pushed herself harder on this one than on any other project to date."
"There are two sequences in the film where she had to pull out all stops," the source adds, "and Alia performed them without the help of glycerine. The tears flowed nonstop even after the shots were over."
Bhansali is comparing Alia's performance to Shabana Azmi's powerhouse performance in her father Mahesh Bhatt's Arth.
Will Alia get her first National Award for Gangubai Kathiawadi? Those who have seen her do what she has done in the film seem to think so.
